Despite the fact that almost one in three people in the United States have presbyopia, it is likely that you have not even heard of it yet if you are one of the two-thirds not yet afflicted. It can be hard to believe but the fact is majority of the public is not at all familiar with such all-encompassing condition. This condition that basically occurs with age affects a huge proportion of people from the mid-age category and more often than never, they develop it without proper knowledge of what exactly it’s all about.

Presbyopia is a condition that is almost impossible to avoid because it can affect anyone. It is most common among people who are over 40 years of age, that is indeed almost 30% of Americans. When the eyes are weak, objects appear blurred from a closer view. If things were not bad enough however, those with presbyopia are also open to other problems like myopia which causes far away objects to become unclear.

A terrible affliction was once thought of Astigmatism as it made the world dark for everyone who suffered from it. There was that one point when not even glasses were there to provide those with Astigmatism a bit of comfort. When they came along eventually, they still had limited effect on the condition. Things got even worse when contact lenses came on the market and gave relief to those with other conditions.
